My sister also writes a blog, which is the title of this post.

Thats where i got the idea for this post. She recently spent two months travelling overseas with only a carry on bag.

What are the few things that you would take with you in an emergency? Comment below.

Im proud to say that all i would take is my family, wallet and my phone. Like the majority of society, i got sucked into the materialism vortex in the past but ive managed to climb out. Its funny because i started out as a minimalist. As a kid i would make my siblings 'buy' my unwanted things at my bedroom door garage sales. Then id refuse to buy anything at theirs. Lol. Im not sure how i started out like that because i come from a family of casual hoarders. Lol.

Now that im an adult and a mum, ive realised what i knew as a child. Things dont really matter. People matter.

Sometimes i think id love to be like a gypsy. All that freedom sounds so enticing but its not a reality i can pursue these days. Unfortunately my husband and daughter are the opposite so i still have alot of stuff in my house that i have to deal with everyday. I think all the reading i do has something to do with my new found wisdom. Topics like minimalism, simple living, holistic living, sustainable living, spirituality, etc have brought me back down to earth.

  1. Pretty much the same! Family, wallet, phone... medicines & jelly beans! :)
